5 THINGS THAT ARE OVER-ESTIMATED IN PHOTOGRAPHY

We all were noobs at a point , right ? We develop ourselves and create our skills to become better and better with time. And we will still develop ourselves in future also. But there are some things present in our Photogenic-World that are extremely overrated. So here am I try to explain some of these things , that shouldn't be taken care of , as much as many people give them.

Megapixel

Megapixel is the most obvious and only thing that people knows when it comes to the camera , and that's OK , but not as much as people give priority to them

The more megapixel means more sharpness right ? and more sharpness means more clarity. And that's 100% true , I don't deny that.

But here I am givving you some fact that help you to understand megapixel a bit more.

1) More megapixel = More noise ( It's a very complicated thing that I would  surely discuss in future. But the main thing is - Sensor Area (Full-Frame /APS-C / Micro-4/3 / Medium-form) divided by the Megapixel is a size of a pixel . In your camera [Sensor-Size/Megapixel = Pixel-Size]. The larger the pixel size gets , the less noise you will have. )

Example - Sony a7s ii - is a Professional-fullframe camera which costs 2200$ , and it has only 12 Megapixel , which brings the camera Extreme-lowlight performance by reducing noise.

3) Higher Megapixel needs more stabilization(Less-shake) than lower-megapixel which is tough to manage.

ISO - Ratings

Yes , ISO is important , very-important for me at-least . So how do you check that ? By watching the labeled ISO-Rating on the box of your camera ?

( I will give you an example - You will have your answer yourself , suppose you went to a grocery shop and asked for a Body-Soap , the shop-keeper gave you two options - 1) Chemical-soap with a fancy box and 2) A medicated soap . What will you choose ?

Exactly that's what camera-company does , they advertise their camera more than their capability )

ISO-Rating is just a illusion to take your money. So how to find Ideal ISO camera at a great price ? Triva  the actual ISO performance of your camera ?  https://www.dxomark.com/ - does the work for you and compare thousands of different cameras at a great price.

Autofocus-Points

Yes , it might sound a little crazy but believe me , its not any good that how many auto-focus points yous have , it's better to have a wider auto-focus area than more autofocus-point.

One lens can focus at a single plate at one time , it's doesn't help with the auto-focusing points that your camera have.

Example- (Sony a6500 have ~493 auto-focus points but where as Nikon d500 is better in auto-focusing with its 153 auto-focus points) . It aslo depends how good is your auto-focusing system/technology is.

Aperture

Aperture is the most overrated thing among all of the beginners.

All of you know its business , that , it passes more and more light, and that is correct but what is wrong that - they Compare aperture with the Bokeh (Blur-background).

That is wrong , Bokeh is a sum of  sensor-size , blur , focal-length and background-compression which are totally different things.

 (Example - f/6.3 @300mm give you more blur *visually* than f/4.5 @70mm ).

Aperture is also depend on the sensor size , means - 50mm f/1.8 acts same on a full-frame camera but it will become 75mm f/2.7 on a APS-C camera.

Weight

You shouldn't mind heavy weight of your camera , some companies give heavier body chaise in their camera to make them heavy and sturdy .

The main two things that helps with a heavier camera is

 1) It gives you more stabilization

2) It make a good balance between camera and lens ( In some lighter body, heavy lens give irritation for the inappropriate balance point)

So these are some points that I would like not to give priority that much in my opinion

Tone curve looks Terrible, right? But here I am to give you the simplest explanation, what is Tone-curve and how it is used?  A tone curve looks like this -  Mainly a tone curve indicates Shadows- midtones & Highlights   ( If you don't know about them, look at  http://photographiaindustry.blogspot.in/2018/04/one-of-most-important-thing-in-camera.html ) Mainly a tone curve indicates   Shadows-  midtones  & Highlights of the whole image but you can also divide them in Red/Green/Blue's in order to get better results. But we will discuss only RGB - tone curve (Whole image's tone curve ) Let's go,  1st section - Divisions  X-AXIS Red - Shadow Green - Mid-Tones Blue - Highlights We can break the Tone-Curve in 3 different sections Red - portion used for Shadows, which means that - If we curve the line in the red section it will affect onl...
